Oodles of Problems with MOODLE and a beach weekend recap.

This weekend was a blast was amazing!!! My friends and I have rented the same house for the past three years for Memorial Day. It is always a weekend of fun in the sun...and my favorite LIVE MUSIC!! Since it's opening weekend for the season, only the BEST beach music and cover bands are down there. This weekend surely didn't disappoint. Liquid Pleasure...who I might add has a singer that looks like one of the members of the rap group Bone Thugs in Harmony was Friday night. Saturday we saw The Breakfast Club, and I really love 80's music. Sunday...my man Craig Woolard was in town singing my favorite beach music tunes. All in all a great little weekend with some of the best friends in the entire world.

Reality however sank in Sunday when I got home to realize that my PROFESSOR hasn't gotten my Moodle problems fixed so that I can actually login and do work for my ENED class and I'm not toooooooo happy.

This week is full of festivities as we prepare for Christian's wedding. Should be a nice affair, although I'm a little stressed that I have to take Friday off. EOC's are in less than a week...YIKES!

I still feel 25...most of the time.

I've been working on my masters for what seems like forever...I took one class in 2005...and never really got on the real track until a year ago. I'm halfway done, and now they start cutting classes due to this excessive amount of debt our state is in...go figure. I would be done in December if not for this, but because of the state of our economy, East Carolina will get my money for one more semester and I will be finished in May '10. I'm taking 12 hours over the course of the summer and I'm nervous. First summer session, I'm taking Studies in Hispanic/Latino Literature and also Studies in the Process of Composition.

Long story short, I logged into Blackboard today and I noticed that even though class doesn't actually begin until tomorrow, about nine of my classmates were already taking part in discussions and getting their work done. I'm a last minute person, but with my school work I am generally not a day behind before I begin...I truly felt like Elle Woods on her first day of law school, my friend suggested that I just get some scented pink paper and that would make everything better!

My weekend was amazing! My best friend graduated from nursing school on Friday and her pinning ceremony was beautiful! They had a slide show which was backed up by "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. I am truly not a Miley or Billy Ray Cyrus fan, but I think that the lyrics to this song are thought provoking. I heard it on the radio twice yesterday and it actually made me cry a little.

Saturday was even better, although I didn't make it to the Merritt pig pickin again this year (sorry lizzie)! I love country music and especially country concerts...and Saturday night tops them all. George Strait is truly a legend and I really enjoyed the way he mixed up his older number one hits with new stuff. He's the man and I really thought Blake Shelton was awesome too. I didn't realize how many songs were his until I listened to his show the other night. Great times.

Now just a countdown until Friday...can't wait until I'm leaving to put my toes in the sand.

Stress is almost over!!!!!!

My weekend at the lake was relaxing and exactly what I needed to prepare to come back to work and put the finishing touches on prom 2009.

Monday was a very long day...thanks to my good friend at school, Brandon...all the prom tickets were printed by 4th period. This was an extreme relief. Tuesday morning the library assistants came down during 1st and 2nd period and helped me get all the student tickets and parent tickets put into envelopes. They started being picked up yesterday at lunch time!!! What an awesome feeling after months of work! All the decorations are complete with the exception of one set of directions...this is a major accomplishment considering that two weeks ago I was certain that we wouldn't have anything completed by this point. I never stop being amazed at what my students can do...and this prom committee is no different. They are a small group, but they work extremely hard...and I couldn't be more proud of them!!

Pray for my sanity for these next couple days...I'm going to need it!

Getting away for the weekend!!!!!!!

I can't begin to tell you how much I'm looking forward to 3:15 today. I don't know how many of you are teachers...but if you are a teacher or you work with children on a constant basis...maybe even just the ones that you live with, then you know how stressful it can be! This week has been one for the record books.

Being that I am single, have no dependents to speak of (except for my amazingly cute 3 year old doggie Ralph)...I get asked to perform tons of extra duties at my school. I am fortunate enough this year to be in charge of the prom. WOW, I can't even tell you how much work it has been. Thankfully, it will all be over with next Saturday night! I have chosen a Vegas Nights theme for our prom. The kit below is what I ordered for our decorations, and this picture is courtesy of the website I bought it from Prom Nite. They were very easy to work with and the items shipped in a very timely manner! It is a job however to put together all this cardboard and make it look decent!

So I'm done putting together cardboard poker chips and dice for the week...I'm off to Gaston Lake for the weekend to enjoy some sunshine and great friends!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!!
